Director of Photography
Tomás Mac Donnacha is an accomplished Director of Photography and DV Director with two decades of experience working across documentary and drama. Since beginning his career in 2005, Tomás has built a strong reputation for his intuitive visual storytelling and his ability to bring authenticity and cinematic flair to a wide range of projects.
He has a particular passion for drama, and his work in the genre was recognised with a nomination for Best Cinematography at the Fastnet Film Festival 2025. Tomás also has extensive experience filming traditional Irish music and culture, capturing performances and stories with sensitivity and depth.
Equally at home leading a small documentary crew or collaborating with larger drama teams, Tomás brings a calm, focused presence on set and a deep understanding of both technical and narrative demands. His work is grounded in a strong sense of place and atmosphere, and he continues to seek out stories that resonate on both a visual and emotional level.
